Gradings

S.O.U.L Kickboxing gradings are every three months. Gradings are a space in which students sign up to demonstrate their grading syllabus so that they may achieve their next belt.

Grading Information

Kickboxers

Every grading date has a cut off period two weeks prior. Please ensure you have signed and paid before the sign up sheet is withdrawn!

On the grading day, all participating students must be signed in by 8:45am. Please ensure you arrive with plenty of time!

Students are expected to stay until the end of the whole grading. The reasoning for this is that the SOUL Kickboxing family is built on supporting each other.

Information

for Spectators

No photography. No recording. This is due to gradings being a mixed age event. However, if you wish to take pictures of your child, please do so in a quiet area with no other people in frame.

Plenty of support and encouragement! Spectators can help give those grading a boost by cheering, clapping and constant encouragement. Hearing support can really make all the difference!

There will be a tuck shop available. Supplying a selection of snacks and refreshments!

Grading Etiquette

Refer to everyone as Sir/Maam.

Bow when addressing.

Always be ready to follow and carry out any instructions.

Lots of "Yes Sir/Yes Ma'am!"s. Respect and equality needs to be voiced throughout.

If in doubt, bow and shout!

Please ensure you have the following items prior to your grading:

White

S.O.U.L Kickboxing Suit, Bag Gloves, Hand Wraps

Red

Skipping Rope

Yellow

Upper Body Sparring Equipment (Headguard, Gumshield, Boxing Gloves) Chest protector optional

Orange:

Lower Body Sparring Equipment (Footguards, Shinguards, Groinguard)

Grading Tips

During a balance drill, keep going until the examiner tells you to stop!

Typical Grading Flow

8:15 AM:

Doors open.
You must sign in by 8:45am if you are grading!

8:45 AM:

The signing in sheet is withdrawn.

9:00 AM:

All Kickboxers who are grading are called up to welcome the

grading examiner as they enter the room.

Then the first grading group demonstration begins, continuing group-by-group until there are no more grading groups.
